is the registered trademark sports
service of the Australian Academy of
Boxing. The rules of competition
lower the physical and mental demands of participants by
providing higher
levels of control and safety factors than
are available under other competition.

Inter-Club Competition Workshops
are conducted on a regular basis as a component of A.A.B.
Golden Gloves & White Collar Boxing Coach Accreditation. The
'AAB Excessive Punching Rule' plus well padded 16oz boxing
gloves, headguards with chin protection and option of full
facial, provides a closely controlled skill based boxing
environment.
Implementation of the
'AAB Excessive Punching Rule'
focuses competition tactics and strategy directly on the
profiency of personal boxing skills through point scoring.
Contestants infringing the rule by throwing power punches that
in the opinion of the referee could force opponents to lose
defence capability are penalised.

be excessive despite the opponent not being affected by the
punch. The referee stopped the contest and warned the offending
boxer.
